There are several alternative therapies to modern day medicine such as crystal therapy, herbal remedies, water therapy, massage and acupressure. Colour Therapy is fast emerging as a safe option to many health problems. The use of Colour is a truly holistic, non-invasive and powerful therapy which dates back thousands of years.

Colour is simply light of varying wavelengths, thus each colour has its own particular wavelength and energy. The energy relating to each of the seven spectrum colours of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, resonates with the energy of each of the seven main chakras/energy centres of the body.

Colour therapy can help balance and stimulate our energy chakras by applying the appropriate colour to the body.

VIOLET - relates to the CROWN chakra which is at the top of the
head. Violet has a very calming effect on us and is, therefore,
very helpful for those people experiencing sleep difficulties or
stress. However, it can get very negative for those
suffering from depressive disorders.

INDIGO - relates to the BROW chakra or third eye which
is in the centre of the forehead. Indigo helps in inner peace, emotional depth and devotion.

BLUE - relates to the THROAT Chakra and has a calming,
relaxing and healing effect on the body. It also helps in better speech and communication.

GREEN - relates to the HEART chakra. Green is the colour of
balance and harmony, and the colour to give and take love. If one
has experienced trauma, a green silk wrapped around the shoulders can have a very therapeutic effect.

YELLOW - relates to the SOLAR PLEXUS chakra, situated below the ribs. It is the colour for intellect and can be very helpful where concentration is required.

ORANGE - relates to the SACRAL chakra situated in the lower abdomen. Orange stimulates and energizes us, and is very warming. It is an excellent colour for creativity and helps create a balanced environment.

RED - relates to the BASE chakra situated at the base of the spine. Red is a stimulating and energising colour, helpful for tiredness and lethargy, stimulating low blood pressure and boosting sluggish circulation. Red should not be used on anyone, with hypertension/high blood pressure since this colour increases blood flow.

  1. Using a lightbox – where a hollow wooden framed box with colour filters imparts the right wavelength of light to the body where treatment is desired. You can change the colour of the filter depending on the treatment required.

  2. Coloured Silks/ cotton is wrapped around the body part that requires treatment.

  3. Using Solarised water - where water in a coloured container is kept in the sun. The water absorbs the vibrtional energy of that particular colour and treatment is done by drinking that water.
